Ranthambhore National Park is one of the largest national parks in India covering an area of almost 400 km2. Established in 1955 it is one of the finest plcaes to witness tigers in their natural habitat, along with leopards, wild boars, sambar, hyenas, sloth bears, southern plains gray langur, and peacocks. It is named after the Ranthambore Fort built in 944 which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013.
